Re: Foodbank donations

As we approach the festive season again, Ingleby Manor School are looking to support our community by making donations to the local Foodbank at Thornaby.

As you are aware the festive season can be a difficult time of the year for many people and more so this year as people in our local communities are increasingly affected by the costs of inflation and utilities.

With this, Ingleby Manor School would like to help out where we can.

From Monday 28th November students can bring in donations and drop these at the school ‘Donation Station’. In return for their donation, they will be issued a raffle ticket to be entered into a prize draw which will take place in the Christmas Assembly on the last day of term.

What can I donate?

We have liaised with the Foodbank to ask what they are most in need of and below are a list of items they would happily receive as donations:

  • Tins of Soup
  • Tinned Meat
  • Tinned Fish
  • Tins of Fruit
  • Long life Milk
  • Juice
  • Coffee
  • Tea
  • Sugar
  • Sauces
  • Bags of Rice
  • Biscuits
  • Cereal
  • Insta Noodles/pot Noodles
  • Pet Food
  • Toilet Roll
  • Toiletries
  • Nappies
  • Any other non-perishable items that are within their sell by date.

Please note: donations of Pasta and Beans are NOT required as they already have sufficient quantities.

All donations will be accepted at the school up until the 8th December, where we will be delivering the food and helping out at the centre. If you would like to make any donations after this time, you can do so directly to the Thornaby Foodbank.

We would appreciate anything you can donate and we thank you in advance for your support.
