Welcome back to School

We hope you have had an enjoyable summer break and are looking forward to your child returning back to school shortly. We would also like to extend a warm welcome to the parents and carers of our new year 7 students.

Ahead of the students return, please see below some information for your attention.

Year 7

  • New students joining us in year 7 will start school on Monday 5th September at 8.30am.
  • Students can arrive via the front gate adjacent to reception or the back gate opposite Ingleby Mill Primary School. Staff will be on hand to great your child upon their arrival and will direct them where to go.
  • Year 7 students will have their official school photo taken on their first day. A proof of these will be sent home with your child and orders can be placed directly with Tempest Photography. Details of how to order will be outlined on the form.
  • Year 7 students will also have their thumb print scanned for the cashless payments for lunches.

Years 8, 9, 10, 11

  • Students that are not in year 7 will return back to school on Monday 5th September at 10.30am.
  • Upon arrival, students will line up in the yard and will be collected by their tutor. The morning will be spent with tutors and lessons will commence after lunch.

Paying for School Lunches – New Payment System

  • Ingleby Manor School, with effect from Monday 5th September will no longer be using ParentPay for paying for lunches and other items.
  • Parents will be able to make payment for lunches, trips, revision guides etc via the All NEW ‘My Child at School’ app.
Please download the app and enter your details and the invitation code that will be sent next week (if you have not yet received one). From here you can credit your Childs account using a debit or credit card.
  • Any balances remaining from ParentPay, will be transferred over for you to the new system and credited to your child’s account.
  • Please don’t worry if you have not managed to set up your app or load funds ready for your child starting school on Monday, they will still be permitted to take a lunch and this will be applied to their account. Once their account is fully setup, any outstanding payments will be deducted from their balance.

Timetables

  • Students will be issued their timetable on their first day so there is no requirement for your child to bring with them their PE kit on Monday 5th September. Once your child has their timetable, they will be expected to bring their PE kit on the days that they have PE.

Water Bottles, Sun Cream & Outdoor Clothing

Whilst we come to the end of summer, as you know the British weather can be unpredictable so it is imperative that your child is prepared for the weather as needed.

  • Students are required to have a water bottle with them at all times so they can remain hydrated throughout the day. These can be filled at one of our many chilled drinking fountains.
  • If the sun continues, we would recommend that students apply sun cream as PE lessons and social times are spent outdoors.
  • For changes in the weather, students are required to bring with them a suitable outdoor coat for cold and wet conditions.

Over the course of the next week, we will issue some FAQs which will assist with anything you are unsure of. In the meantime, for more information and details of how to contact the school should you require to do so from 5th September, please take a tour of the website.
